Dr. Natalie Milman presented, “Reimagining Ed Tech Research” at the Civics of Technology Conference. In this session, she shared a brief, broad overview of recurrent themes in educational technology research from the past few decades which demonstrate a need to re-imagine educational technology research. After providing this overview, she engaged participants in exploring what research is needed to move the field forward. How can we re-imagine educational technology research to help us “dream of the just futures we need for our students, educators, and communities” (Heath & Krutka, 2024, para. 9)? She closed by exploring how we might achieve this important goal to re-imagine educational technology research.
